Make a difference assisting children grades 6-8th graders with their class and homework assignments in an after-school setting in Coral Gables across the street from UM's Campus!!
This is a great opportunity for college students or recent graduates with a passion for teaching and working with children. We are looking for high energy individuals who like being around children.
Tutors will complete the following:
- Support students in learning and understanding new materials
- Practicing and continuing development on old materials
- Assist students with mastery of math concepts while identifying potential gaps in their foundational learning
- Assist students with continued growth through vocabulary and writing concepts while identifying potential gaps in their foundational learning
- Help students learn and practice independent living skills including organizational techniques, time management etc.
- Offer general study tips and tools to navigate testing
- Complete lesson documentation on software, including detailed notes regarding session content coverage
