College Internship Program
Information:
At NVEEE, part-time and full-time internships are available year-round and can be entirely virtual or hybrid. Students are eligible to receive volunteer, internship, and academic course credits if applicable.
Community Outreach and Engagement Committee
Description:
The Community Outreach and Engagement Committee aids in identifying, planning, and engaging in activities that build strong partnerships with community-based and national nonprofit organizations. This committee raises awareness of NVEEE and its work by participating in speaking engagements, attending events with partners and other organizations, making presentations to interested groups, and distributing information throughout the community. Additionally, committee members will mentor and collaborate with youth designated as Ambassadors for one or more of its programs.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Being well-informed about NVEEE and its various programs and services.
- Representing and being an ambassador for NVEEE at community events, social gatherings, galas, educational workshops, and more.
- Collaborating with the Programs committee in creating a calendar for outreach.
- Collaborating with community partners about their events calendar to find opportunities to work together and to prevent overlap or duplication of efforts.
- Supporting the Programs committee in maintaining a database of (local and national) diverse, exciting, and inspirational guest speakers for NVEEE’s three summer events, the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) as well as the Peace Ambassador Leadership Program (PALP) held during the school year.
- Attending virtual or in-person networking events to share about NVEEE work and to find opportunities to collaborate.
- Developing and nurturing relationships with various community organizations, businesses, and elected officials and their offices.
- Updating the partnership database.
- Collaborating with the Creative committee to ensure video and photos are taken at events for presenter and sponsor recognition.
- Collaborating with the Creative Services Committee to build marketing materials for community events. Tracking organization outcomes, including people served and accomplishments.
- Developing an outreach plan for prospective members and partners.
