Who We Are
The Boubaker Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering immigrant and refugee communities from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as they transition to life in the United States. Founded in 2024 and based in Miami, our mission is to provide vital resources, educational programs, and support services that enable individuals and families to achieve financial stability, social integration, and personal success. Our vision is to create a thriving, inclusive community where all immigrants and refugees have the opportunity to flourish and contribute to society. We believe in the power of education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement as the pillars of a successful and fulfilling life.
Since our inception, the Boubaker Foundation has focused on addressing the unique challenges faced by immigrant and refugee families in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Through initiatives such as Digital Literacy Workshops, Small Business Support Programs, and free Path to Citizenship classes, we strive to provide the tools and support necessary for these families to build brighter futures. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can access the opportunities they need to succeed. We invite University of Miami students to join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Whether through direct service, program coordination, or community outreach, your involvement will help us continue to uplift and empower immigrant and refugee communities in South Florida.
What We Do
At the Boubaker Foundation, we accomplish our mission and vision through a variety of programs and activities designed to empower immigrant and refugee communities from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and other underdeveloped parts in the Western Hemisphere.
Our initiatives are focused on education, economic empowerment, and community integration, ensuring that individuals and families have the resources they need to thrive in the United States.
1. Digital Literacy Workshops:
We offer hands-on workshops that equip participants with essential digital skills, helping them navigate technology, access online resources, and improve their employability. These workshops cover topics such as basic computer skills, internet safety, online communication, and using digital tools for personal and professional development.
2. Path to Citizenship Program: Our Path to Citizenship Program provides free classes and one-on-one assistance to help immigrants and refugees prepare for the U.S. citizenship process. We offer guidance on completing applications, studying for the citizenship test, and understanding the rights and responsibilities of becoming a U.S. citizen. Classes are available in multiple languages, including Arabic, to ensure accessibility for all participants.
3. Small Business Support Program: We empower aspiring entrepreneurs by providing training, mentorship, and resources to help them start and grow their own businesses. Our Small Business Support Program includes workshops on business planning, financial management, marketing, and navigating legal requirements. We also connect participants with local resources, microloans, and grants to support their entrepreneurial journey.
4. Community Outreach and Events: We actively engage with the community through outreach initiatives and events that promote social integration and cultural understanding. Our Back-to-School Resource Fair, for example, provides essential school supplies to children from low-income immigrant and refugee families, ensuring they start the school year equipped and ready to succeed.
We also organize cultural festivals, health fairs, and educational seminars to bring the community together and celebrate diversity.
5. Volunteer and Internship Opportunities: We provide meaningful volunteer and internship opportunities for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of immigrant and refugee families. Volunteers can get involved in a variety of roles, from teaching classes and mentoring entrepreneurs to helping with event planning and community outreach.
Our goal is to create a collaborative environment where volunteers can contribute their skills and learn from their experiences. Through these programs and activities, the Boubaker Foundation is committed to building a supportive and inclusive community where immigrant and refugee families can achieve their full potential and contribute to the vibrancy of South Florida.
