Who We Are

Founded by General William Booth in 1865; The Salvation Army became a means to help people throughout London who were unwelcome in the traditional church. William Booth abandoned the concept of the traditional church and found a new approach. He walked the streets of London preaching to the poor, homeless, and hungry. The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. We aim to meet human needs in His name, without discrimination. The Salvation Army has since expanded too 128 countries, coordinated by our international headquarters in London.

What We Do

The Salvation Army's shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some of the other services we provide are: Emergency Disaster Response; Food, Shelter, and Clothing assistance, Rent assistance, Substance abuse rehabilitation, alongside many more. We have ample Volunteer opportunities.

Daily opportunities we have are: The Food pantry (8:30-11:30am & 1:30-3:30pm) where we put together bags of groceries for the community; as well as the kitchen (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) where we prep/cook the meals to feed our guests.

Special Events are also available to participate in, such as our monthly guest birthday celebration! We also have our upcoming back to school drive Apple Tree where we will need help collecting school supplies and putting together bookbags for the children of the community.
