We are a 440-acre State Park located at the southern end of the southern most barrier Island in the continental United States - Key Biscayne. We are consistently ranked in the top 5 most visited Florida State Parks, and one of the top 10 best beaches in the United States.
Our mission is to provide resource based recreation, while preserving, interpreting, and restoring natural and cultural resources.
Our park is named for Bill Baggs - Editor of the Miami News in the 1960's. He was a prominent activist in world peace, civil rights and historic and natural preservation. He convinced Mrs. Garcia to sell this property to the state of Florida rather than develop it. He was also nominated for a Nobel peace prize for his trip to North Vietnam to attempt to set up peace talks between the US and North Vietnam.
