Florida Grand Opera is seeking motivated Promotion & PR Interns to support our outreach efforts at community events.
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arts advocacy, public engagement, and event coordination while supporting FGO’s mission to bring the transformative power of opera to audiences across South Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Florida Grand Opera at local events, festivals, and community gatherings by engaging attendees, distributing materials, and sharing information about our programming.
- Assist in planning and logistics for FGO’s presence at community events, including booth setup, volunteer coordination, and promotional activities.
- Support audience engagement efforts by facilitating sign-ups, collecting feedback, and encouraging participation in upcoming performances and programs.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop creative outreach strategies and materials.
- Document events through photos, short videos, and written recaps for internal and external use.
- Maintain accurate records of event participation and community contacts.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Arts Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Theater, or related fields).
- Strong interest in arts advocacy, public engagement, and community building.
- Outgoing, friendly personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable interacting with diverse community members in a variety of public settings.
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
- Flexible availability, as most events occur outside of traditional business hours.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
