As a Little Medical School® Instructor, you’ll bring hands-on, inspiring lessons in medicine to children through after-school programs, in-school field trips, and camps across our region. Our programs introduce young minds to the worlds of medicine, veterinary science, pharmacy, nursing, sports medicine, and more, all while sparking confidence, curiosity, and purpose. What You'll Do:
- Teach meaningful, high-energy lessons that introduce K–8 students to healthcare concepts in a fun, hands-on way
- Represent Little Medical School® professionally at each class location, ensuring each child and school partner feels seen, safe, and valued
- Protect the integrity of our copyrighted curriculum and materials, only LMS instructors or volunteers may handle or present these tools
- Arrive prepared with your instructor and student kits, set up and clean up class materials, and ensure your teaching area is left better than you found it
- Reinforce teamwork, inclusion, and a love for learning in every interaction
- Be part of a purpose-driven community that supports and uplifts each other while changing lives
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have your own vehicle
- Are available at least 3 weekday afternoons per week (during the times of 1:30–5:00 PM during the school year) for a minimum of one year
- Are positive, professional, reliable, and energized by working with kids
- Are self-motivated and able to work independently at partner sites
- Understand the privilege and responsibility of delivering our proprietary curriculum with care and confidentiality
- Have leadership teaching, camp counseling, or youth mentorship experience
- Can pass a background check and uphold high standards of safety and trust
Bonus Points For:
- Background in pre-med, pre-health, nursing, education, or youth development
- Experience working in after-school or enrichment programs
- Spanish language skills
