Who We Are
Communities In Schools of Miami (CIS of Miami) works to empower at-risk students in our District's most challenged schools. We accomplish this by partnering with the schools and bringing in programs and resources that are proven to keep students in school and motivated to graduate. Examples include mentoring, tutoring, life skills development, case management, counseling, job readiness, and much more. Services are offered at no charge to students and their families. Communities in Schools of Miami's programs are powered by many dedicated individuals and groups including volunteers, mentors, tutors, teachers, AmeriCorps members, partners, donors, staff, the Board of Directors, students and parents. Communities In Schools of Miami is part of a national network of affiliates in 26 states and the District of Columbia. The network serves nearly 2 million students in more than 3,000 sites, making it the nation's leading community-based organization that helps kids achieve in school and prepare for life.
